Built on Confidence: Why We Chose Credence Constructions for The Belvedere
Behind every considered development is a series of decisions that shape its future. For Fortezza Group, selecting the right construction partner is among the most important.
At Fortezza Group, we believe that exceptional developments are the result of more than thoughtful architecture and beautiful design. They are shaped by experience, expertise and the collective vision of the people entrusted to bring them to life.
With over 75 years of combined industry experience across property development, project management and construction, our team understands that the success of a development is determined by the decisions made long before construction begins. From the earliest stages of planning and design to the careful selection of consultants and construction partners, every decision is informed by our experience, industry knowledge and unwavering commitment to quality.
For The Belvedere, our upcoming residential development in Nelson Bay, the appointment of Credence Constructions as our construction partner reflects this considered approach. Guided by independent assessment, demonstrated capability and shared values, our selection was about more than finding a builder. It was about aligning with a team that understands the significance of the vision we are creating.
While architecture, materiality and amenity define the experience of a residence, it is the integrity and quality of its construction that underpin its longevity.
It was this philosophy, shaped by decades of experience, that guided our decision.
A Recommendation Grounded in Industry Expertise
At Fortezza Group, the appointment of a construction partner is guided by a rigorous vetting and due diligence process, designed to ensure that every builder we engage demonstrates the experience, capability, financial standing and operational standards required to deliver projects of exceptional quality.
Credence Constructions successfully satisfied this comprehensive assessment, demonstrating an alignment with the standards, expectations and values that underpin our approach to property development.
Our introduction to Credence Constructions came through Napier & Blakeley, the quantity surveyors appointed to The Belvedere.
As experienced construction cost consultants, Napier & Blakeley bring an informed understanding of the commercial and technical considerations involved in delivering complex developments. Their recommendation provided a valuable foundation, introducing us to a construction company whose expertise, credentials and approach warranted further consideration.
While industry relationships and professional recommendations carry considerable value, at Fortezza Group, we believe confidence must be reinforced by independent scrutiny, demonstrated performance and measurable standards.
For us, a recommendation opens the conversation. It is the people, expertise, systems and proven capabilities behind a business that ultimately determine its suitability as a construction partner.
Independent Recognition. Greater Confidence.
An important factor in our decision was Credence Constructions’ iCIRT rating.
Developed by Equifax, the independent Construction Industry Rating Tool (iCIRT) was established to provide greater transparency and accountability within Australia’s construction industry.
Unlike self-proclaimed credentials, an iCIRT rating is derived from an independent assessment of a construction company’s financial capacity, capability, conduct and other risk indicators.
For developers and purchasers alike, this provides an additional layer of confidence in the organisations responsible for delivering residential projects.
At Fortezza Group, we recognise that purchasing a residence, particularly off the plan, represents a significant financial and personal commitment.
Choosing a construction partner with independently assessed credentials is one of the ways we seek to bring greater transparency, accountability and assurance to that experience.

Quality Is a Discipline, not a Promise
Beyond its iCIRT rating, Credence Constructions holds three internationally recognised ISO management system certifications:
- ISO 9001 – Quality Management: Supporting consistent processes, accountability and continuous improvement.
- ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety: Establishing structured systems for managing workplace risks and protecting the people involved in construction.
- ISO 14001 – Environmental Management: Providing a framework for identifying, managing and reducing environmental impacts.
These certifications, which Credence has publicly confirmed, reflect a structured approach to the way projects are managed and delivered.
For Fortezza Group, this matters.
Quality construction is not simply measured by the finished product. It is reflected in the processes, decisions and standards upheld throughout every stage of delivery.
The most successful developments are built on systems that support consistency, responsibility and attention to detail, long before the first residents arrive.
A Continued Commitment to Safety
Credence Constructions is also working towards achieving accreditation under the Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner’s (OFSC) Work Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme by the end of 2026.
While this accreditation remains an objective in progress, the commitment to pursuing it speaks to an organisation focused on continually strengthening its operational standards.
We view safety as an essential component of construction excellence. It is inseparable from the responsibility we hold to our contractors, project teams, future residents and the wider community.
A commitment to building well must also be a commitment to building responsibly.

Different Perspectives. Stronger Outcomes.
One of the more compelling aspects of Credence Constructions is the composition of its team, with women representing approximately 30% of its workforce.
In an industry historically dominated by men, this is a meaningful reflection of the company’s approach to building a more diverse and inclusive workplace.
For us, diversity extends beyond representation. Bringing together people with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives creates opportunities for more considered decision-making, stronger collaboration and fresh approaches to complex challenges.
Construction is fundamentally a collaborative discipline. The successful delivery of a project depends on communication, problem-solving and the ability to bring multiple areas of expertise together around a shared objective.
We value organisations that recognise the contribution of diverse talent and actively create space for it.
As developers, we believe the future of our industry should be defined not only by the buildings we create, but also by the culture and opportunities we help foster along the way.
A Shared Vision for The Belvedere
The Belvedere has been conceived as a distinctive expression of coastal living, where contemporary architecture, carefully curated amenity and a strong connection to its Nelson Bay setting come together.
Its delivery demands a construction partner who understands that the details matter, from the structural integrity of the building through to the quality of its finishing and the experience of those who will ultimately call it home.
In Credence Constructions, we have selected a partner whose independent credentials, management systems and organisational values align with our expectations for the project.
Ultimately, our responsibility as developers extends well beyond the initial vision. It is about making considered decisions at every stage and appointing the right people to carry that vision forward.
Because a building’s legacy is not defined simply by how it looks when completed, but by the quality, integrity and care with which it was created.
And for The Belvedere, that commitment begins with the people who choose to build it.
