The transformation of Brisbane’s bayside into a hub for residential development is set to reach new heights with a flashy, new $12 million apartment complex, which will be Wynnum’s tallest tower, starting to take shape.
Alta Vista is a unique 21-unit, seven-storey complex at 92 Bride St from The Fortitude Group, is the latest project to hit the suburb.
Just overtaking the Wynnum Cinema and Lato Baia tower on Berrima St, which has nine levels but two are underground – Alta Vista, which means ‘high view’ in Italian is scheduled to be complete in April next year with sales expected to start from next week.
Brenton Faehrmann, the real estate agent in charge of sales for Alta Vista from Place Bulimba, said the tower was something that you would usually see in some of Brisbane’s ritziest suburbs.
“It’s the finishes of the building that set this one apart from other developments in the area,” he said.
“People will be amazed at the way it will look when the scaffolding comes down.”
One of the three owners of the building and project director behind, Roberto Giammaria from The Fortitude Group, said Alta Vista ranked as arguably the group’s best development to date.
“I personally had been working on this for three years, it was a real works in the making with many models tested before reaching its design,” he said.
”We also wanted to ensure a high volume of local trades and suppliers were seen as priority during the COVID-19 pandemic to maintain local financial support.
“The design is something the bay has never seen before – it sits at the top of hill overlooking all of Moreton Bay.
“Its boutique design, there’s nothing like it the area and a first of its kind in Wynnum or Manly offering quality end product.”
Councillor for Wynnum Manly Peter Cumming (ALP) said the project shows that developers still have confidence in the bayside despite the general economy being down following COVID-19.
“It will add even more units to the local market and help improve the numbers of people living close to the cinemas and shops in Wynnum Central.
“I hope these new residents support local businesses.”
Mr Faehrmann said there had been a lot of interest in the building despite sales not open yet.
However, Alta Vista may not be Wynnum’s tallest tower for long with several other developments on the way.
